Works with Gemini

GrowthDept for Gemini: a marketing department inside Gemini

Add GrowthDept to Gemini once as a custom app. Then type @GrowthDept in a chat and ask what your marketing did, or give it a campaign.

Add GrowthDept to Gemini

Google offers custom apps to personal Google accounts, for people aged 18 or over in the US, in English, with Keep Activity turned on. Outside the US, Gemini does not offer it yet. On Gemini for work, your admin adds it.

The address is https://growthdept.app/mcp. Every step, and how to use a key instead of signing in, is on the setup page.

Three steps

  1. On a computer, press Add to Gemini on this page. It copies GrowthDept's address and opens Gemini.
  2. Open Settings, then Connected Apps, then Add a custom app. Paste the address, press Next and sign in with your GrowthDept account.
  3. In a chat, type @ and choose GrowthDept, then ask it what happened this week. It then works in the Gemini phone app too.

What you can ask it

  • "What did my marketing do this week?"
Reads what went out and where, and what waits for you.
  • "What is waiting for my yes?"
Lists the drafts waiting for you, with their words.
  • "Launch a campaign for house removals in Lewisham."
Sets the focus and queues the work. It goes through your approval settings.
  • "Check my website and tell me the first thing to fix."
Checks your site the way a search engine does.
  • "Where do I show on Google, and what changed since last week?"
Reads your own Search Console, once Google is connected.
  • "What do people search for when they need what I do in Croydon?"
Finds the real searches people type, place by place.
  • "How do my App Store and Google Play pages read?"
Reads your app's store pages and the changes GrowthDept suggests.
  • "Draft a reply to my newest app review."
Writes a draft. You say yes to it yourself in GrowthDept.

What it cannot do

  • Put anything online itself. What GrowthDept writes goes through your approval settings, which start at asking you first.
  • Say yes to a draft you did not ask it to.
  • Change your own website.
  • Promise a result or a place on Google.

What it costs

The connection is included on every GrowthDept plan, and the 7-day free trial needs no card. Reading costs nothing. When it asks GrowthDept to write or plan, that spends Growth Credits at the same rates as in the app. Your Gemini plan is separate. See Pricing.

Questions

Why can I not find custom apps in Gemini?
Google offers them only to personal Google accounts in the US, for people aged 18 or over, in English, with Keep Activity on. Outside the US, Claude and ChatGPT can use GrowthDept today.
Can my company add it on Gemini for work?
Yes, an admin can. On Gemini for Business or Enterprise, the admin adds it under Manage team, then Connected apps, then Add MCP Server.
Is GrowthDept an MCP server?
Yes. GrowthDept's connector is a remote MCP server at https://growthdept.app/mcp, so the same address works in Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor, Codex and Claude Code.
Can it post for me?
The assistant cannot put anything online itself. It can launch a campaign, and what GrowthDept writes then goes through your approval settings, which start at asking you first. When you ask it to, it can record your yes or no to a draft.
What does it cost?
The connection is included on every GrowthDept plan, and the 7-day free trial needs no card. Reading costs nothing. When it asks GrowthDept to write or plan, that spends Growth Credits at the same rates as in the app. Your assistant's own plan is separate.
Is GrowthDept made by Google?
No. GrowthDept is made by ForgeAI Studio Ltd, a UK company. It works with Gemini as a connector you add yourself, and it is not made or endorsed by Google.
